Story
Art and design have been an important part of me since my childhood. Being born and raised in the architectural marvel, Kolkata, I was introduced to traditional Indian paintings by my mother when I was five. She used to take me to art galleries frequently and would talk about the finer details of beauty for hours. I grew up seeing her create various handicrafts and textile designs in form of embroidery, knitting, sewing. I also had a chance to work closely with Pradipta Sankar Das, a renowned Artist in Kolkata.
Being curious and fascinated with aesthetic side of design, I always searched for meaning in everything. And this led me to explore the functional side of design early in my life.
Fast forward to few years, I worked with a few established brands and agencies, crafting user experiences and interfaces for them. Experience in an agency setup gave me an opportunity to work on multiple domains, products, and with a group of very talented designers. This journey helped me strengthen my skills as a designer and observe small details. I believe good design lies in the finer details, and we have to really care about them.
Today, I work with Microsoft where I focus on visual design, accessibility, and design system. Beauty, function, and sustainability is the important part of my work.
In my free time, I explore typography, graphic design, and food. I am definitely not a writer but I do pen down my learnings and share it with people.
